Easy Affogato in just 5 minutes


Learn how to make a delicious Italian coffee-based dessert. The “Affogato” a perfect combination of coffee and ice cream. Here’s an easy recipe to try at home!­


  • 2 scoops of good quality, vanilla bean ice cream, such as Häagen-Dazs
  • ¼ cup *(good quality) hot espresso or brewed coffee
  • Chocolate shavings, optional


  • Spike it with ½ tablespoon Kahlúa, amaretto, Frangelico, cognac, Grand Marnier, or other liqueur of your choice.

How do you make Affogato? 

In a cup or a shallow bowl, add two scoops of ice cream. Then, pour the fresh brew espresso or coffee over the ice cream. Drizzle with Kahlúa, if desired.

Sprinkle chocolate shavings on top.

Serve immediately.

Grab a spoon and enjoy! 😉
