Ingredients

  • 1 double shot Espresso
  • ¾ cup 2% milk
  • 1 tablespoon white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate , to taste
  • Whipped cream , if desire

Instructions

  • Place 1 tablespoon of white chocolate chips in the bottom of a mug and microwave it until a bit melted. The hot espresso and steamed milk will further melt the chips. Alternatively, you can use a store-bought white chocolate sauce.
  • Next, prepare 1 double shot of espresso (1 double shot = 2 oz) and pour it into the prepared mug.
  • Stir hot espresso and softened white chocolate together for about a minute or until the chocolate chips have dissolved—Froth, 2% milk, using your preferred method. Pour the frothed milk into the mug.

Notes

How to Store & Re-Heat
To store: Transfer the beverage to an airtight container and place it in the refrigerator.
To reheat: Pour the refrigerated beverage into a small saucepan or microwave-safe mug; heat the beverage over low to medium heat, constantly stirring until heated.
Alternatively, microwave the beverage in 30-second intervals, stirring in between intervals until heated through. Once the beverage is heated to your desired temperature, pour it into a coffee mug and top it with whipped cream (if desired). Keep in mind that reheating the beverage may affect its texture and flavor. The milk may separate, or the beverage may become thicker, so it's important to stir the beverage well after reheating.
Additionally, the whipped cream may not hold its shape if refrigerated, so you may need to whip up a fresh batch of whipped cream for topping.
Make-Ahead
If you're using homemade white chocolate sauce instead of white chocolate chips, you can make it ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to a week. When you're ready to make the beverage, warm up the sauce in the microwave or stove. If you have a milk frother, you can froth the milk ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to a day. When you're ready to make the beverage, heat the frothed milk and pour it into your mug with the espresso and white chocolate.
You can brew the espresso ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to a day. When you're ready to make the beverage, heat the espresso and pour it into your mug with the white chocolate and frothed milk.
Remember that the beverage's flavor and texture may differ if you make the components beforehand. The frothed milk may not be as fluffy, and the espresso may not be as strong. However, these make-ahead tips can help you save time and make preparing the beverage faster and more convenient.
